Spring is a time of new beginnings, new plans, and new ways of thinking.
Millions of children still face the crippling pain of hunger and malnutrition.
And while immediate relief is essential, children deserve more than the basics to keep them alive.
It’s a problem we’ve been tackling for years. But change is possible. We’ve seen families escape hunger for good.
We’ve seen families escape hunger for good. But how?
By showing families – and farmers – how to produce crops that grow even in drought. By helping families grow breakfast, lunch and dinner from their own backyards. By setting up seed banks, fish farms, food-pantries and more!
Together, we can turn the season of new beginnings into a season of hope.
Your generosity can go beyond immediate relief. Because the best change isn’t a quick fix, it’s a total transformation.
Children deserve more than the basics to keep them alive. They deserve healthy, delicious food, day in, day out.
With your help we can make that happen. Will you join us?

Meet Cosmas and Evie

Meet doting big brother Cosmas, his little sister Evie and mum Mary.
"After Evie was born, I was so happy," says Cosmas, a doting big brother. At ten years old, he takes pride in looking after his siblings – especially Evie, whose boundless energy and mischief make him laugh.
But things were very different for Cosmas when he was her age. At just one year old, he was malnourished – his tiny body starved of the nutrients he needed to grow. His mother, Mary, remembers how helpless she felt. "There was no Maziko back then."
Now, thanks to Save the Children's Maziko programme, everything has changed. In their district of Balaka, families like Cosmas’s are learning to grow their own food, farm in tough climates, and access cash grants—giving them control over what they need most.
Today, Cosmas and Evie’s childhoods look very different. "I feel like Evie is healthy because she has porridge before school," Cosmas says proudly. With their own crops to harvest and the means to buy essentials, the family no longer worries about where their next meal will come from.
Instead of hunger holding him back, Cosmas is looking ahead – to school, to opportunity, to a future full of possibility.
With your generosity, we can help families, like Mary, Cosmas and Evie, stop hunger in its tracks.
Meet Keira*

Keira*, 10, in her bedroom. As well as benefiting from the low-price food her family gets from the pantry, she also receives weekly activity packs there.
"It's very easy when I'm full, but very hard when I'm hungry." says Keira*, 10, from Manchester.
With an empty stomach, concentrating was impossible. Dinner was often just noodles or chips – leaving her tired, distracted, and struggling to learn. "I mostly failed everything when I was hungry," she remembers.
But things have changed. Since her mum joined a local food pantry, supported by Save the Children, Keira eats proper meals and has discovered new foods, like chicken and pepper kebabs. She’s even started cooking with her family.
More than just food, the pantry has been a place of community, support, and stability during tough times. It’s helped Keira focus on what matters – her love of reading, playing football, and doing well at school.
Access to good food has changed everything – for Keira, her family, and her future.
With your support, we can help more families break free from hunger and give children like Keira the chance to grow, learn, and reach their full potential.
