Horado's* got big dreams...
...he just needs a little help getting there.
Two years ago, a huge storm struck Horado’s* village in Guatemala. “I felt the earth shake and I told my parents that families were being swept away by the river” he says. Tragically, some people lost their lives. Horado* and his family were all safe, but their house and all their belongings were destroyed.
Supporters like you that meant we were able to give affected families cash transfers. Horado's family used theirs to begin rebuilding their home. We also set up a child friendly space in Quiche - a small but comfortable space to help children heal and process some incredibly difficult experiences.
It’s a simple thing, but just as important as rebuilding a house or a village.
It's helped Horado learn to dream again. “My dream is to improve the lagoon... to create place for play and fun.”
